  1  1    Amend Senate File 470, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 4, by inserting before line 29 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec. 101.  NEW SECTION.  56.5B  LIMITATIONS ON
  1  6 CONTRIBUTIONS.
  1  7    1.  An individual shall not make contributions
  1  8 that, during any election campaign cycle, in the
  1  9 aggregate exceed the following:
  1 10    a.  Two thousand dollars to any candidate or
  1 11 candidate's committee for a statewide office.
  1 12    b.  Five hundred dollars to any candidate or
  1 13 candidate's committee for the Iowa senate.
  1 14    c.  Two hundred fifty dollars to any candidate or
  1 15 candidate's committee for the Iowa house of
  1 16 representatives.
  1 17    2.  A candidate or candidate's committee shall not
  1 18 knowingly accept any contribution in violation of this
  1 19 section.
  1 20    3.  For purposes of this section:
  1 21    a.  "Election campaign cycle" means the period of
  1 22 time between any general or special election
  1 23 commencing on the day following the previous election
  1 24 for that office and continuing through election day.
  1 25    b.  "Statewide office" means the office of any of
  1 26 the state officers listed in section 39.9."
  1 27    #2.  Title page, line 2, by striking the word "by"
  1 28 and inserting the following:  "and contribution
  1 29 limits, by limiting certain contributions,".
  1 30    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
