  1  1    Amend House File 779 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 34 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  Section 12.40, subsection 1, Code 1999,
  1  5 is amended to read as follows:
  1  6    1.  As used in this section, "rural small business"
  1  7 means an existing a rural small business, for which
  1  8 local competition does not exist in the principal
  1  9 realm of business activity of that business, and the
  1 10 loss of which will work a hardship on the rural
  1 11 community.  A rural small business may include a
  1 12 grocery store, drug store, gasoline station,
  1 13 convenience store, hardware business, or farm supply
  1 14 store.  A rural small business does not include a new
  1 15 business.
  1 16    Sec.    .  Section 12.40, subsection 5, Code 1999,
  1 17 is amended by striking the subsection."
  1 18    #2.  Title page, line 1, by inserting after the
  1 19 word "Act" the following:  "relating to the linked
  1 20 investments for tomorrow Act, including by".
  1 21    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
