  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-1363, to House File 747, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, line 15, by inserting after the word
  1  4 "date." the following:  "If a county has set a
  1  5 specific date, prior to the effective date of this
  1  6 section, for an election to be held, at any time, on
  1  7 the question of imposition of the local sales and
  1  8 services tax for school infrastructure purposes, that
  1  9 election may be held.  Upon a majority vote in favor
  1 10 of imposition of such tax, the tax shall be imposed
  1 11 until the expiration of the period specified in
  1 12 section 422E.1, subsection 2, or on an earlier date if
  1 13 a subsequent election is held to repeal the tax on an
  1 14 earlier date."
