1 1 Amend the amendment, H-1588, to Senate File 468, as
1 2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 16, by inserting after line 31 the
1 5 following:
1 6 " . The judicial branch shall conduct a study on
1 7 the method of allocating district court judges and
1 8 district associate judges and shall submit a report to
1 9 the general assembly by January 1, 2000, with its
1 10 findings and recommendations. In conducting its
1 11 study, the judicial branch shall examine the current
1 12 method of allocating district court judges and
1 13 district associate judges as provided in Code sections
1 14 602.6201 and 602.6301, and shall make findings and
1 15 recommendations as to whether or not the methods
1 16 provided in those sections represent the best
1 17 mechanism for allocating judges amongst judicial
1 18 districts and counties."
