  1  1    Amend Senate File 150, as passed by the Senate, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 2, by inserting after line 25 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  Section 602.1215, subsection 1, Code
  1  6 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1  7    1.  The district judges of each judicial election
  1  8 district shall by majority vote appoint persons to
  1  9 serve as clerks of the district court, one for each
  1 10 county within the judicial election district.  A
  1 11 person does not qualify for appointment to the office
  1 12 of clerk of the district court unless the person is at
  1 13 the time of application a resident of the state.
  1 14 Within three months of appointment the clerk of the
  1 15 district court must establish residence and physically
  1 16 reside in the county.  A clerk of the district court
  1 17 may be removed from office for cause by a majority
  1 18 vote of the district judges of the judicial election
  1 19 district.  Before removal, the clerk of the district
  1 20 court shall be notified of the cause for removal."
  1 21    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
