  1  1    Amend Senate File 187, as passed by the Senate, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 12 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  Section 462A.2, subsection 15, Code
  1  6 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1  7    15.  "Motorboat" means any vessel propelled by
  1  8 machinery, whether or not such machinery is the
  1  9 principal source of propulsion, or vessel propelled
  1 10 attached to another craft which is propelled by
  1 11 machinery.  "Motorboat" includes a personal
  1 12 watercraft."
  1 13    #2.  Page 2, by striking lines 20 through 24 and
  1 14 inserting the following:  "watercraft including
  1 15 personal watercraft in its curriculum.  Each person
  1 16 who".
  1 17    #3.  Page 2, line 26, by inserting after the word
  1 18 "certificate." the following:  "However, a person
  1 19 under eighteen years of age shall not be issued a
  1 20 certificate of completion without consent of a parent
  1 21 or guardian."
  1 22    #4.  Page 3, line 8, by striking the letter "a."
  1 23    #5.  Page 3, line 13, by striking the word "July"
  1 24 and inserting the following:  "January".
  1 25    #6.  Page 3, by striking lines 25 through 28 and
  1 26 inserting the following:  "A violation of this
  1 27 paragraph is a".
  1 28    #7.  By striking page 3, line 30, through page 4,
  1 29 line 14.
  1 30    #8.  Page 4, line 25, by inserting after the word
  1 31 "animals" the following:  "as defined in section
  1 32 481A.1,".
  1 33    #9.  Title page, lines 3 and 4, by striking the
  1 34 words ", and providing an effective date".
