Senate Study Bill 12

  1  1    Section 1.  Section 455G.18, subsection 2, paragraph d,
  1  2 Code 1997, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    d.  Any person who has five years of direct and related
  1  4 experience and training as a groundwater professional or in
  1  5 the field of earth sciences as of June 10, 1991.  
  1  6                           EXPLANATION
  1  7    Groundwater professionals are registered with the
  1  8 department of natural resources.  They provide soil
  1  9 contamination and groundwater consulting services and contract
  1 10 to perform remediation or corrective action services.  This
  1 11 bill eliminates a grandfather provision in the definitional
  1 12 requirements of a groundwater professional.  The five-year
  1 13 requirement of experience or training remains.  This bill
  1 14 removes the limitation that this five-year period is limited
  1 15 to the years prior to June 10, 1991.
