1 4 TO LEGALIZE THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
1 5 SIGOURNEY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO SELL CERTAIN SCHOOL
1 6 DISTRICT PROPERTY AND PROVIDING EFFECTIVE AND RETROACTIVE
1 7 APPLICABILITY DATES.
1 8 WHEREAS, the board of directors of the Sigourney Community
1 9 School District, pursuant to section 297.22, authorized the sale
1 10 of certain property of the school district consisting of the
1 11 North elementary school site described as out lot twenty and the
1 12 middle school site described as out lot nine of the City of
1 13 Sigourney, Keokuk County, Iowa; and
1 14 WHEREAS, due to an error, the board failed to have the
1 15 property appraised as required by section 297.22; and
1 16 WHEREAS, the board accepted bids for the property and
1 17 proceeded with the sale of the property in the belief that the
1 18 requirements of section 297.22 had been satisfied; NOW THEREFORE,

1 20 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 22 Section 1. All proceeding taken by the board of directors
1 23 of the Sigourney Community School District regarding the sale
1 24 of the North elementary school property and the middle school
1 25 property are hereby legalized and constitute a valid and
1 26 binding sale of this property.
1 27 Sec. 2. This Act, being deemed of immediate importance,
1 28 takes effect upon enactment and is retroactively applicable to
1 29 March 9, 1992.
