PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 295.2, subsection 1, Code Supplement 1 2 1997, is amended by adding the following new paragraphs: 1 3 NEW PARAGRAPH. d. There is appropriated from the general 1 4 fund of the state to the department of education for each year 1 5 of the fiscal period beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 1 6 30, 2006, the sum of forty million dollars for the school 1 7 improvement technology program. 1 8 Sec. 2. Section 295.5, Code 1997, is amended to read as 1 9 follows: 1 10 295.5 FUTURE REPEAL. 1 11 This chapter is repealed effective July 1,20012006. 1 12 EXPLANATION 1 13 This bill appropriates moneys from the general fund of the 1 14 state to the school technology improvement program for an 1 15 additional five years beyond the current final date of June 1 16 30, 2001, and increases the current annual appropriation of 1 17 $30 million to $40 million in each of the additional years. 1 18 The bill also extends to July 1, 2006, the sunset of the 1 19 chapter creating the school technology improvement program. 1 20 LSB 3858XS 77 1 21 kh/jw/5.1
