  1  1    Section 1.  Section 422.45, Code 1997, is amended by adding
  1  2 the following new subsection:
  1  3    NEW SUBSECTION.  52.  The gross receipts from the sale of
  1  4 vehicle component parts which are used in the manufacture of
  1  5 fire trucks to be sold to a political subdivision of this
  1  6 state.  
  1  7                           EXPLANATION
  1  8    The bill exempts from the state sales and use taxes the
  1  9 sale of vehicle component parts that are used to manufacture
  1 10 fire trucks which will be sold to a political subdivision of
  1 11 this state.
