  1  4 PROVIDING FOR THE AMOUNT OF A SURETY BOND REQUIRED TO BE
  1  5    EXECUTED BY A TREASURER OF AN EXTENSION COUNCIL.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  9    Section 1.  Section 176A.14, subsection 4, unnumbered
  1 10 paragraph 2, Code 1997, is amended to read as follows:
  1 11    5.  Each of the officers of the extension council shall
  1 12 perform and carry out the officer's duties herein as provided
  1 13 in this section imposed upon them and shall perform and carry
  1 14 out such any other duties as shall be imposed upon them in the
  1 15 required by rules adopted by the extension council from time
  1 16 to time as authorized in this chapter authorized.  The members

  1 27 hands of the treasurer at any one time not less than twenty

  1 29 to the faithful discharge of until the treasurer faithfully
  1 30 discharges the duties of the office of treasurer.  The amount
  1 31 and sufficiency of all bonds shall be determined by the county
  1 32 treasurer of the county of the extension district and upon the
  1 33 treasurer's approval endorsed on the bond shall be filed with
  1 34 the county auditor of the county of the extension district
  1 35 who.  The county auditor shall notify the chairperson of the
  2  1 extension council of the approval by the county treasurer and
  2  2 of the bond's filing thereof in the auditor's office.  The
  2  3 cost of any corporate the surety bond so furnished by a
  2  4 treasurer shall be paid for by the extension council.
