  1  4 RELATING TO COMPENSATION TO VICTIMS OF INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM
  1  5    WHO ARE RESIDENTS OF IOWA AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  8 
  1  9    Section 1.  Section 912.5, Code 1997, is amended by adding
  1 10 the following new subsection:
  1 11    NEW SUBSECTION.  5.  To or for the benefit of a resident of
  1 12 this state who is a victim of an act of terrorism as defined
  1 13 in 18 U.S.C. } 2331, which occurred outside of the United
  1 14 States.
  1 15    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1 16 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
