1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 481A.25 POSTING OF LAND –
1 2 WRITTEN PERMISSION – PENALTY.
1 3 1. An owner may post the owner's land requiring a person
1 4 who wishes to hunt, fish, or trap on the land to obtain the
1 5 written permission of the owner, lessee, or person in lawful
1 6 possession of the land.
1 7 2. A person who enters upon land for the purpose of
1 8 hunting, fishing, or trapping without obtaining written
1 9 permission as required pursuant to subsection 1, commits a
1 10 simple misdemeanor.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill provides that an owner may post the owner's land
1 13 to require a person who wishes to hunt, fish, or trap on the
1 14 land to obtain the written permission of the owner, lessee, or
1 15 person in lawful possession of the land.
1 16 A violator of this section commits a simple misdemeanor
1 17 which is punishable by imprisonment for not more than 30 days
1 18 or a fine of at least $50 but not more than $100.
