1 2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the House, as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 5, by inserting after line 49 the
1 5 following:
1 6 "DIVISION
1 7 Sec. . NEW SECTION. 327H.20A RAILROAD
1 8 REVOLVING LOAN FUND.
1 9 A railroad revolving loan fund is established in
1 10 the office of the treasurer of state under the control
1 11 of the department. Moneys in this fund shall be
1 12 expended for loans to provide assistance for the
1 13 restoration, conservation, improvement, and
1 14 construction of railroad main lines, branch lines,
1 15 switching yards, sidings, rail connections, intermodal
1 16 yards, highway grade separations, and other railroad-
1 17 related improvements. The department shall administer
1 18 a program for the granting and administration of loans
1 19 under this section. The department may enter into
1 20 agreements with railroad corporations, the United
1 21 States government, cities, counties, and other persons
1 22 for carrying out the purposes of this section. Moneys
1 23 received as loan repayments shall be credited to the
1 24 railroad revolving loan fund. Notwithstanding section
1 25 8.33, moneys in the railroad revolving loan fund shall
1 26 not revert to the general fund of the state but shall
1 27 remain available indefinitely for expenditure under
1 28 this section.
1 29 Sec. . RAILROAD REVOLVING FUND. There is
1 30 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
1 31 state department of transportation for the fiscal year
1 32 beginning July 1, 1998, and ending June 30, 1999, for
1 33 deposit in the railroad revolving loan fund
1 34 established in section 327H.20A, an amount equal to
1 35 the amount of loan repayments made under section
1 36 327H.18 and chapter 327I that exceed one million one
1 37 hundred ninety thousand dollars during fiscal year
1 38 1998-1999."
