1 2 #1. Page 17, line 16, by striking the word "The"
1 3 and inserting the following: "Except as provided in

1 5 #2. Page 17, by inserting after line 19 the
1 6 following:
1 7 "For the fiscal year beginning on July 1, 1998, the
1 8 department of economic development shall transfer from
1 9 the credited moneys to the department of education for
1 10 allocation by the school budget review committee, an
1 11 amount necessary to be distributed as supplemental aid
1 12 to a district that is located within ten miles from an
1 13 establishment regulated under chapter 189A where
1 14 animals or poultry are slaughtered, if the district
1 15 applies to the school budget review committee and has
1 16 unusual need for advance funding to provide a program
1 17 or other special assistance to limited English
1 18 proficient pupils. The supplemental aid distributed
1 19 under this paragraph shall be miscellaneous income and
1 20 shall not be included in district cost."
