  1  1    Amend Senate File 2274, as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 2, line 26, by striking the word "a." and
  1  3 inserting the following:  "a."
  1  4    #2.  By striking page 2, line 27, through page 3,
  1  5 line 31, and inserting the following:  "in the
  1  6 following order of priority:
  1  7    The inmate's employer shall provide each employed
  1  8 inmate with the withholding statement required under
  1  9 section 422.16, and any other employment information
  1 10 necessary for the receipt of the remainder of an
  1 11 inmate's payroll earnings.
  1 12    a.  From the inmate's gross payroll earnings, the
  1 13 following amounts shall be deducted:
  1 14    (1)  An amount the inmate may be legally obligated
  1 15 to pay for the support of the inmate's dependents, the
  1 16 amount of which shall be paid to the dependents
  1 17 through the department of human services collection
  1 18 services center.  Twenty percent, to be deposited in
  1 19 the inmate's general account.
  1 20    (2)  Restitution as ordered by the court pursuant
  1 21 to chapter 910.  All required tax deductions, to be
  1 22 collected by the inmate's employer.
  1 23    (3)  Five percent of the balance, to be deducted
  1 24 for the victim compensation fund created in section
  1 25 912.14.
  1 26    (4)  From the balance, after deduction of the
  1 27 amounts under subparagraphs (1), (2), and (3), an
  1 28 amount which the inmate may be legally obligated to
  1 29 pay for the support of the inmate's dependents, which
  1 30 shall be paid through the department of human services
  1 31 collection services center.
  1 32    (5)  Any balance remaining after the deductions
  1 33 made under subparagraphs (1) through (4) shall be
  1 34 deposited in a special account for reimbursement to
  1 35 the department of corrections for the costs of the
  1 36 inmate's incarceration.
  1 37    b.  From the twenty percent of gross wages deducted
  1 38 under paragraph "a", subparagraph (1), the department
  1 39 shall deduct the following:
  1 40    (1)  Restitution as ordered by the court under
  1 41 chapter 910.
  1 42    (4) (2)  An amount that the inmate is legally
  1 43 obligated to pay for any other financial obligation.
  1 44    (5)  An amount determined to be the cost to the
  1 45 department of corrections for providing for the
  1 46 incarceration of the inmate.
  1 47    b.  Of the balance remaining after deductions and
  1 48 payments required pursuant to paragraph "a", the
  1 49 department shall deposit in the Iowa state industries
  1 50 revolving fund created in section 904.813, an amount
  2  1 equal to the costs incurred by the fund related to the
  2  2 inmate's employment pursuant to this section.
  2  3    c.  Any balance remaining after the deductions and
  2  4 payments required by this subsection under paragraphs
  2  5 "a" and "b" shall be credited to remain".
