  1  1    Amend House File 731, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 21, by inserting after line 17, the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  1996 Iowa Acts, chapter 1218, section
  1  6 10, unnumbered paragraph 3, is amended to read as
  1  7 follows:
  1  8    Of the appropriation in this section, $50,000 shall
  1  9 be used for costs associated with the renovation and
  1 10 repair of the Allison monument located on the state
  1 11 capitol complex.  An effort shall be made by the
  1 12 department of education to match this appropriation
  1 13 from the citizens and the school children of Iowa as
  1 14 occurred when the monument was initially built."
