1 5 "Sec. . NEW SECTION. 56.14A NEW ADVERTISING
1 6 BEFORE ELECTION – RESTRICTIONS.
1 7 A candidate or a candidate's committee shall not,
1 8 within the five-day period which immediately precedes
1 9 the election in which the candidate is seeking office,
1 10 publish, distribute, or cause to be published or
1 11 distributed, published material designed to promote or
1 12 defeat the election of the candidate or the
1 13 candidate's opponent unless the material was
1 14 previously published or distributed during the period
1 15 of time which preceded that five-day period. For
1 16 purposes of this subsection, "published material"
1 17 includes "published material" as defined under section
1 18 56.14 and paid political announcements broadcast
1 19 through electronic media including, but not limited
1 20 to, radio, television, or computer networks."
