  1  1    Amend Senate File 549 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by striking lines 13 through 18.
  1  3    #2.  Page 3, line 24, by striking the figure "8.50"
  1  4 and inserting the following:  "9.50".
  1  5    #3.  Page 9, line 24, by inserting after the word
  1  6 "years" the following:  ", effective July 1, 1998".
  1  7    #4.  Page 17, by inserting after line 25 the
  1  8 following:
  1  9    "Sec. 201.  Notwithstanding section 8.33, funds
  1 10 appropriated in 1996 Iowa Acts, chapter 1215, section
  1 11 12, subsection 2, paragraph "n", remaining
  1 12 unencumbered or unobligated on June 30, 1997, shall
  1 13 not revert to the general fund of the state but shall
  1 14 be available for expenditure for the purposes listed
  1 15 in section 11, subsection 2, paragraph "n", of this
  1 16 Act."
  1 17    #5.  Page 20, line 30, by inserting after the word
  1 18 "program." the following:  "The institution shall work
  1 19 with the department of education to coordinate the
  1 20 support system for delivery of the reading recovery
  1 21 program to school districts."
  1 22    #6.  Page 26, by striking line 14 and inserting the
  1 23 following:  "limited to an amount equal to the
  1 24 resident tuition rate established for institutions of
  1 25 higher learning under the control of the state board
  1 26 of regents or the resident tuition rate of the".
  1 27    #7.  Page 26, line 16, by inserting after the word
  1 28 "attending" the following:  ", whichever is less".
  1 29    #8.  Page 28, by inserting after line 25, the
  1 30 following:
  1 31    "___.  Section 201 of this Act, relating to the
  1 32 nonreversion of funds appropriated for the national
  1 33 advanced driving simulator, being deemed of immediate
  1 34 importance, takes effect upon enactment."
  1 35    #9.  By renumbering as necessary.
