  1  1    Amend House File 693, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 1 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  519A.15  MEDICAL
  1  6 MALPRACTICE INSURANCE.
  1  7    1.  The commissioner shall require that an insurer
  1  8 offering medical malpractice insurance to licensed
  1  9 health care providers in this state offer medical
  1 10 malpractice insurance on both a "claims-made" and
  1 11 "occurrence" basis.
  1 12    2.  An insurer which violates this section is
  1 13 subject to fines and penalties applicable to licensed
  1 14 insurers generally, including revocation of the
  1 15 insurer's license and of the right to do business in
  1 16 the state."
