  1  1    Amend House File 331, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 25, the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec. ___.  Section 808A.2, Code 1997, is amended
  1  6 by adding the following new subsection:
  1  7    NEW SUBSECTION.  1A.  In addition to the criteria
  1  8 outlined in subsection 1 for conducting a search, in
  1  9 determining the manner in which a search of a student
  1 10 protected area is to be conducted, school officials
  1 11 shall consider the nature and extent of any privacy
  1 12 interest that a student may have in the student
  1 13 protected area and whether the student should be
  1 14 present at the time that the search is conducted."
  1 15    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
