  1  1    Amend House File 710, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 27, by inserting after line 1 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec. 100.  MEDICAL ASSISTANCE APPROPRIATION –
  1  6 HEALTH PROGRAMS.  Notwithstanding section 8.33, of the
  1  7 funds remaining unobligated or unexpended from the
  1  8 appropriation to the department of human services for
  1  9 medical assistance in 1996 Iowa Acts, chapter 1213,
  1 10 section 3, at the close of the fiscal year beginning
  1 11 July 1, 1996, $600,000 shall not revert to the general
  1 12 fund of the state but shall remain available to be
  1 13 used for the purposes designated in this section in
  1 14 the succeeding fiscal year.  The moneys retained shall
  1 15 be transferred to the Iowa department of public health
  1 16 and shall be used in addition to the allocations in
  1 17 this Act in the amount of $400,000 for the public
  1 18 health nursing program and $200,000 for the home care
  1 19 aid/chore program.  Notwithstanding section 8.39,
  1 20 moneys transferred pursuant to this section are not
  1 21 subject to further transfer."
  1 22    #2.  Page 28, line 6, by striking the word "DATE"
  1 23 and inserting the following:  "DATES.
  1 24    1."
  1 25    #3.  Page 28, by inserting after line 8 the
  1 26 following:
  1 27    "2.  Section 100, relating to reversion of a
  1 28 medical assistance appropriation, being deemed of
  1 29 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment."
