PAG LIN 1 1 Amend Senate File 132, as amended, passed, and 1 2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows: 1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 15 the 1 4 following: 1 5 "Sec. . Section 321.11, unnumbered paragraph 3, 1 6 Code 1997, is amended to read as follows: 1 7 Notwithstanding other provisions of this section to 1 8 the contrary, the department shall not release 1 9 personal information to a person, other than to an 1 10 officer or employee of a law enforcement agency or a 1 11 licensed private investigation agency or a licensed 1 12 security service or a licensed employee of either, if 1 13 the information is requested by the presentation of a 1 14 registration plate number. However, a law enforcement 1 15 agency may release the name, address, and telephone 1 16 number of a motor vehicle registrant to a person 1 17 requesting the information by the presentation of a 1 18 registration plate number if the law enforcement 1 19 agency believes that the information is necessary to 1 20 prevent an unlawful act. A person seeking the 1 21 information shall state in writing the nature of the 1 22 unlawful act that the person is attempting to 1 23 prevent." 1 24 #2. Section 321.249, Code 1997, is amended 1 35 to read as follows: 1 36 321.249 SCHOOL ZONES. 1 37 Cities and counties shall have the power to 1 38 establish school zones and provide for the stopping of 1 39 all motor vehicles approachingsaidthe school zones, 1 40 when movable stop signs have been placed in the 1 41 streets insuchthe cities and highways in counties at 1 42 the limits of the zones,thisnotwithstanding the 1 43 provisions of any statute to the contrary. All 1 44 traffic-control devices provided for school zones 1 45 shall conform to specifications included in the manual 1 46 of traffic-control devices adopted by the department, 1 47 except the provision prohibiting the use of portable 1 48 or part-time stop signs." 1 49 #6. Page 11, line 22, by striking the words "the 1 50 person renting the vehicle to obtain". 2 1 #7. Page 11, by inserting after line 28, the 2 2 following: 2 3 "Sec. . Section 321.560, Code 1997, is amended 2 4 by adding the following new unnumbered paragraph: 2 5 A person who is determined to be a habitual 2 6 offender while the person's license is already revoked 2 7 for being a habitual offender under section 321.555 2 8 shall not be issued a license to operate a motor 2 9 vehicle in this state for a period of not less than 2 10 two years nor more than six years. The revocation 2 11 period may commence either on the date of the final 2 12 decision of the department under section 17A.19 or the 2 13 date on which the district court upholds the final 2 14 decision of the department, whichever occurs later, or 2 15 on the date the previous revocation expires." 2 16 #8. Page 20, line 10, by striking the word 2 29 "paragraph" and inserting the following: 2 30 "paragraphs". 2 31 #15. Page 20, by inserting after line 13, the 2 32 following: 2 33 "NEW PARAGRAPH. ae. For operating a motor vehicle 2 34 on the highways of this state with an expired motor 2 35 vehicle license pursuant to section 321.174A, the 2 36 scheduled fine is twenty dollars." 2 37 #16.
