1 2 #1. Page 33, by inserting after line 9 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. 101. 1996 Iowa Acts, chapter 1216, section
1 5 21, subsection 7, is amended to read as follows:
1 6 7. For costs associated with the training and
1 7 personal protective equipment needs of volunteer fire
1 8 fighters:
1 9 .................................................. $ 875,000
1 10 Notwithstanding section 8.33, moneys appropriated
1 11 in this subsection which remain unobligated or
1 12 unexpended at the close of the fiscal year shall not
1 13 revert to the general fund of the state but shall
1 14 remain available only for the purpose designated in
1 15 this subsection in the succeeding fiscal year.
1 16 Of the moneys appropriated in this subsection, no
1 17 more than fifty percent shall be used for the personal
1 18 protective equipment needs of fire fighters."
1 19 #2. Page 34, by inserting after line 8 the
1 20 following:
1 21 "5. Section 101 of this Act, relating to funding
1 22 for training and equipment needs of volunteer fire
1 23 fighters, being deemed of immediate importance, takes
1 24 effect upon enactment."
