  1  1    Amend House File 557, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 6, by inserting after line 19 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  514B.33  ESTABLISHMENT OF
  1  6 LIMITED SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS.
  1  7    1.  A person may apply to the commissioner for and
  1  8 obtain a certificate of authority to establish and
  1  9 operate a limited service organization in compliance
  1 10 with this chapter.  A person shall not establish or
  1 11 operate a limited service organization in this state,
  1 12 or sell, offer to sell, or solicit offers to purchase
  1 13 or receive advance or periodic consideration in
  1 14 conjunction with a limited service organization
  1 15 without obtaining a certificate of authority under
  1 16 this chapter.
  1 17    2.  The commissioner shall adopt rules pursuant to
  1 18 chapter 17A establishing a certification process for
  1 19 limited service organizations.
  1 20    3.  a.  For purposes of this section, "limited
  1 21 service organization" means an organization providing
  1 22 dental care services, vision care services, mental
  1 23 health services, substance abuse services,
  1 24 pharmaceutical services, podiatric care services, or
  1 25 such other services as may be determined by the
  1 26 commissioner.
  1 27    b.  "Limited service organization" does not include
  1 28 an organization providing hospital, medical, surgical,
  1 29 or emergency services, except as such services are
  1 30 provided incident to those services identified in
  1 31 paragraph "a"."
