PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 147.14, subsection 5, Code 1997, is 1 2 amended to read as follows: 1 3 5. For pharmacy examiners,fivesix members licensed to 1 4 practice pharmacy and two members who are not licensed to 1 5 practice pharmacy and who shall represent the general public. 1 6 A majority of the members of the board shall constitute a 1 7 quorum. Of the six members who are licensed to practice 1 8 pharmacy, at least one member shall be employed by a drug 1 9 retailer which operates seven or more retail pharmacies, drug 1 10 stores, or pharmacy departments under a common trade name. 1 11 EXPLANATION 1 12 This bill provides that the number of members of the board 1 13 of pharmacy examiners who are licensed pharmacists shall be 1 14 increased from five licensed pharmacists to six. The bill 1 15 additionally provides that of the six members who are licensed 1 16 to practice pharmacy, at least one member shall be employed by 1 17 a drug retailer which operates seven or more retail 1 18 pharmacies, drug stores, or pharmacy departments under a 1 19 common trade name. 1 20 LSB 3783HC 77 1 21 rn/cf/24
