1 1 Section 1. LOESS HILLS STUDY CONFERENCE. The legislative
1 2 council is requested to establish an interim study conference
1 3 to analyze and develop proposals for the designation and
1 4 protection of loess soil areas which possess outstanding
1 5 cultural and natural values, such as scenic, forest, prairie,
1 6 mineral, geological, historic, archaeological, recreational,
1 7 educational, water quality, or flood protection values. The
1 8 legislative council may authorize the loess hills development
1 9 authority to coordinate the study and develop recommendations
1 10 relating to the protection, preservation, and uses of land in
1 11 the loess hills areas of this state.
1 12 The interim study conference shall report its findings and
1 13 recommendations to the legislative council and to the members
1 14 of the general assembly.
1 15 EXPLANATION
1 16 This bill requests the legislative council to establish an
1 17 interim study conference to analyze and develop proposals for
1 18 the designation and protection of loess soil areas which
1 19 possess outstanding cultural and natural values. The
1 20 legislative council may authorize the loess hills development
1 21 authority to coordinate the study and develop recommendations
1 22 relating to the protection, preservation, and uses of land in
1 23 the loess hills areas of this state.
1 24 The interim study conference shall report its findings and
1 25 recommendations to the legislative council and to the members
1 26 of the general assembly.
