  1  1    Section 1.  Section 331.441, subsection 2, paragraph b,
  1  2 Code 1997, is amended by adding the following new
  1  3 subparagraph:
  1  4    NEW SUBPARAGRAPH.  (15)  The acquisition of fire protection
  1  5 equipment, ambulances, and ambulance equipment, including
  1  6 equipment to provide emergency medical services and building
  1  7 facilities.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill defines the acquisition of fire protection and
  1 10 emergency service equipment, ambulances, and ambulance
  1 11 equipment and building facilities as an essential county
  1 12 purpose for the purpose of issuing general obligation bonds by
  1 13 the board of supervisors.
