1 1 Section 1. Section 483A.8, Code l997, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 4. If a hunter is issued a deer hunting
1 4 license for the first muzzleloader season, the department,
1 5 upon application and payment of the appropriate fee, shall
1 6 issue the hunter a deer license for a late muzzleloader or
1 7 shotgun season. A second license shall be issued only if
1 8 sufficient deer licenses are authorized by the commission
1 9 pursuant to section 481A.38.
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill provides that if a hunter is issued a deer
1 12 hunting license for the first muzzleloader season, the hunter,
1 13 upon application and payment of the appropriate fee, shall be
1 14 issued a deer license for a late muzzleloader or shotgun
1 15 season. A second deer license shall be issued only if
1 16 sufficient deer licenses are authorized for issuance by the
1 17 natural resource commission.
