1 1 Section 1. There is appropriated from the general fund of
1 2 the state to the judicial department for the fiscal year
1 3 beginning July 1, 1997, and ending June 30, 1998, the
1 4 following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be
1 5 used for the purpose designated:
1 6 For establishment of a pilot court information project for
1 7 the purpose of providing to the general public information
1 8 concerning the judicial process and to provide information and
1 9 court forms related to domestic relations, probate, small
1 10 claims cases, and landlord/tenant disputes. The information
1 11 shall be provided through an interactive multimedia computer
1 12 system accessible to the general public:

1 14 EXPLANATION
1 15 This bill appropriates $150,000 to the judicial department
1 16 for the establishment of a pilot court information project.
1 17 The project shall provide for the dissemination of court-
1 18 related information and court forms through a multimedia
1 19 computer system accessible to the general public. The system
1 20 developed shall provide information about the court system and
1 21 about domestic relations, probate, small claims, and
1 22 landlord/tenant disputes.
