  1  1    Section 1.  Section 422.45, subsection 17, Code 1997, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    17.  The gross receipts from the sale of horses, commonly
  1  4 known as draft horses, when purchased for use and so used as a
  1  5 draft horse breeding, draft, or sporting purposes.  
  1  6                           EXPLANATION
  1  7    This bill exempts from state sales tax the purchase of
  1  8 horses for breeding or sporting purposes.  Present law
  1  9 provides an exemption for draft horses.
