  1  4 RELATING TO THE DEFINITION OF AN OWNER OF A MERCANTILE
  1  5    ESTABLISHMENT FOR PURPOSES OF RECOVERY OF MERCHANDISE
  1  6    OR DAMAGES.

  1  8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: 
  1  9 
  1 10    Section 1.  Section 645.1, subsection 3, Code 1997, is
  1 11 amended to read as follows:
  1 12    3.  "Owner" means an owner of a mercantile establishment
  1 13 and includes an owner's employee acting on behalf a designated
  1 14 representative of the owner.
