PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 607A.8, Code 1997, is amended to read 1 2 as follows: 1 3 607A.8 FEES AND EXPENSES FOR JURORS. 1 4 Grand jurors and petit jurors in all courts shall receive 1 5tenforty dollars as compensation for each day's service or 1 6 attendance, including attendance required for the purpose of 1 7 being considered for service, reimbursement for mileage 1 8 expenses at the rate specified in section 602.1509 for each 1 9 mile traveled each day to and from their residences to the 1 10 place of service or attendance, and reimbursement for actual 1 11 expenses of parking, as determined by the clerk. A juror who 1 12 is a person with a disability may receive reimbursement for 1 13 the costs of alternate transportation from the juror's 1 14 residence to the place of service or attendance. A juror 1 15 shall not receive reimbursement for mileage expenses or actual 1 16 expenses of parking when the juror travels in a vehicle for 1 17 which another juror is receiving reimbursement for mileage and 1 18 parking expenses. 1 19 EXPLANATION 1 20 This bill provides that grand jurors and petit jurors are 1 21 to be paid $40 for each day's service or attendance, including 1 22 attendance required for the purpose of being considered for 1 23 service.
