1 4 TO LEGALIZE CERTAIN CITY AND COUNTY DEEDS AND CONVEYANCES.

1 6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 8 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 589.31 CITY OR COUNTY DEEDS.
1 9 All deeds and conveyances of land executed by or purporting
1 10 to be executed by the governing body of a city or county, and
1 11 placed of record more than ten years earlier, which deeds or
1 12 conveyances purport to sustain the record title, are legalized
1 13 and valid, even though the record fails to show that all
1 14 necessary steps in the conveyance and deeding of the property
1 15 were complied with. The deeds and conveyances are legalized
1 16 and valid as if the record showed that the law had been
1 17 complied with, and that the conveyances and deeding had been
1 18 duly authorized by the governing body of the city or county.
