  1  1    Section 1.  Section 321.126, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code
  1  2 1997, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    Refunds of unexpired vehicle registration fees shall be
  1  4 allowed in accordance with this section, except that no refund
  1  5 shall be allowed and paid if the unused portion of the fee is
  1  6 less than ten dollars.  Subsections 1 and 2 do not apply to
  1  7 motor vehicles registered by the county treasurer.  The
  1  8 refunds shall be made as follows:  
  1  9                           EXPLANATION
  1 10    This bill provides that refunds of unexpired vehicle
  1 11 registration fees will be paid regardless of the amount of the
  1 12 refund.  Currently, the unused portion of the fee must be at
  1 13 least $10 before a refund will be made.
