1 1 Amend the amendment, H-9257, to the Senate
1 2 amendment, H-9118, to House File 2498, as amended,
1 3 passed, and reprinted by the House, as follows:
1 4 #1. Page 1, by striking line 8 and inserting the
1 5 following:
1 6 "Sec. ___. Section 99F.4A, subsection 2, Code
1 7 l997, is amended to read as follows:
1 8 2. A license to operate gambling games shall be
1 9 issued only to a licensee holding a valid license to
1 10 conduct pari-mutuel dog or horse racing pursuant to
1 11 chapter 99D on January 1, 1994. However, a license to
1 12 operate gambling games issued pursuant to this
1 13 subsection may be transferred to another person after
1 14 a majority of the voters of the county in which the
1 15 racetrack enclosure is located, voting on the transfer
1 16 proposal, approves it. The transfer proposal may be
1 17 submitted by the board of supervisors at a general
1 18 election or a special election called for that
1 19 purpose. If the proposal is approved, the issuance of
1 20 a new license is subject to application to, and
1 21 approval by, the commission.
