  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-9185, to Senate File 2381,
  1  2 as amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 3, by striking lines 28 through 47 and
  1  5 inserting the following:
  1  6    "#   .  Page 13, line 14, by inserting after the
  1  7 figure "1999." the following:  "Any balance remaining
  1  8 unobligated or unexpended on June 30, 1999, from the
  1  9 funds appropriated in this section shall be
  1 10 transferred to the agricultural management account of
  1 11 the groundwater protection fund created in section
  1 12 455E.11.  Moneys deposited in that account under this
  1 13 section shall be allocated to the department of
  1 14 agriculture and land stewardship for cost-share
  1 15 assistance for the following programs:
  1 16    To reimburse owners of agricultural drainage wells
  1 17 and surface water intakes which drain into
  1 18 agricultural drainage wells for up to seventy-five
  1 19 percent of the costs incurred after May 29, 1997, to
  1 20 prevent surface water drainage into agricultural
  1 21 drainage wells as required pursuant to section 455I.2.
  1 22    To reimburse individual owners and users of
  1 23 agricultural drainage wells for up to seventy-five
  1 24 percent of the costs incurred after May 29, 1997, to
  1 25 close agricultural drainage wells and to connect
  1 26 drainage systems which are tributary to the drainage
  1 27 wells to alternative drainage outlets as required
  1 28 pursuant to section 455I.3."
