1 1 Amend the Senate amendment, H-8994, to House File
1 2 2164, as passed by the House, as follows:
1 3 #1. Page 3, by inserting after line 8 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. . Section 15E.195, subsection 2, Code
1 6 Supplement 1997, is amended to read as follows:
1 7 2. The commission may adopt more stringent
1 8 requirements, including requirements related to
1 9 compensation and benefits and a prohibition against
1 10 providing benefits or assistance to a business holding
1 11 a sales tax permit for a business where entrance is
1 12 limited by a cover charge of membership requirement,
1 13 for a business to be eligible for incentives or
1 14 assistance than provided in section 15E.193. The
1 15 commission may develop as an additional requirement
1 16 that preference in hiring be given to individuals who
1 17 live within the enterprise zone. The commission shall
1 18 work with the local workforce development center to
1 19 determine the labor availability in the area."
