  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-8847, to House File 2506 as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by striking lines 11 through 18 and
  1  4 inserting the following:
  1  5    "Sec. ___.  NEW SECTION.  482.12A  MUSSEL FISHING
  1  6 MORATORIUM.
  1  7    The season for taking washboard mussels shall be
  1  8 closed from July 1, 1998, through June 30, 2000."
  1  9    #2.  Page 1, by striking lines 43 through 47 and
  1 10 inserting the following:  "later than January 15,
  1 11 2000.  After June 30, 2000, the department may
  1 12 continue the moratorium for taking washboard mussels
  1 13 or reopen the season if the study data shows a healthy
  1 14 population of washboard mussels that can support a
  1 15 commercial harvest season."
