  1  1    Amend Senate File 2259, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, line 32, by inserting after the word
  1  4 "information." the following:  "Any property seized
  1  5 pursuant to a search warrant issued pursuant to this
  1  6 section shall be forfeited in the manner prescribed in
  1  7 chapter 809A."
  1  8    #2.  Page 1, by inserting after line 32 the
  1  9 following:
  1 10    "Sec. ___.  Section 809A.17, subsection 3, Code
  1 11 1997, is amended to read as follows:
  1 12    3.  Forfeited property may be used by the
  1 13 department of justice in the enforcement of the
  1 14 criminal law.  The department may give, sell, or trade
  1 15 property to any other state agency or to any other law
  1 16 enforcement agency within the state if, in the opinion
  1 17 of the attorney general, it will enhance law
  1 18 enforcement within the state.  If the property is cash
  1 19 or is sold or otherwise converted to cash, the
  1 20 department of justice shall distribute at least ninety
  1 21 percent of the funds to the agency or agencies which
  1 22 originally seized the property."

  1 24 words "relating to" the following:  "searches and
  1 25 seizures, by affecting the allocation of seized and
  1 26 forfeited property and the issuance of".
