1 1 Amend the amendment, H-8796, to Senate File 2391,
1 2 as amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 9, by inserting before line 4 the
1 5 following:
1 6 "Sec. ___. Section 811.2, subsection 1, Code 1997,
1 7 is amended by adding the following new unnumbered
1 8 paragraph:
1 9 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. Any bailable defendant
1 10 who is charged with unlawful possession, manufacture,
1 11 delivery, or distribution of a controlled substance or
1 12 other drug under chapter 124 or 125 and is ordered
1 13 released shall be required, as a condition of that
1 14 release, to submit to a substance abuse evaluation and
1 15 follow any recommendations proposed in the evaluation
1 16 for appropriate substance abuse treatment."
1 17 #2. Page 12, line 7, by inserting after the word
1 18 "appeal" the following: "and certain bailable
1 19 defendants are subject to certain bail conditions".
1 20 #3. By numbering and renumbering as necessary.
