  1  1    Amend Senate File 2296, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 7, by inserting after line 16 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Beginning September 30, 1998, the department shall
  1  6 file a report quarterly with the general assembly in a
  1  7 manner consistent with section 7A.11 and with the
  1  8 chairpersons and ranking members of the joint
  1  9 appropriations subcommittee on economic development
  1 10 regarding moneys expended by the department during the
  1 11 previous three months on China-related activities.
  1 12 The report shall list the expenses in a line-item
  1 13 format."
