1 2 #1. Page 26, by inserting after line 16 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. ___. Section 257.1, subsection 2, Code 1997,
1 5 is amended by adding the following new unnumbered
1 6 paragraph:
1 7 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. For the budget year
1 8 commencing July 1, 1998, the department of management
1 9 shall add the amount of the additional budget
1 10 adjustment computed in section 257.14, subsection 3,
1 11 to the combined foundation base.
1 12 Sec. ___. Section 257.14, Code Supplement 1997, is
1 13 amended by adding the following new subsection:
1 14 NEW SUBSECTION. 3. For the budget year beginning
1 15 July 1, 1998, if the department of management
1 16 determines that the regular program district cost plus
1 17 the budget adjustment computed under subsection 1 of a
1 18 school district is less than one hundred one percent
1 19 of the total of the regular program district cost plus
1 20 any adjustment added under this section for the base
1 21 year for that school district, the department of
1 22 management shall provide an additional budget
1 23 adjustment for that budget year that is equal to the
1 24 difference."
