1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting before line 31 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. 101. Section 321J.4, subsection 9, Code
1 6 Supplement 1997, is amended by adding the following
1 7 new unnumbered paragraph:
1 8 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. Notwithstanding any
1 9 provision of this chapter to the contrary, the court
1 10 may order the department to issue a temporary
1 11 restricted license to a person otherwise eligible for
1 12 a temporary restricted license under this subsection,
1 13 whose period of revocation under this chapter has
1 14 expired, but who has not met all requirements for
1 15 reinstatement of the person's motor vehicle license or
1 16 nonresident operating privileges.
1 17 Sec. 102. Section 321J.20, Code Supplement 1997,
1 18 is amended by adding the following new subsection:
1 19 NEW SUBSECTION. 7. Notwithstanding any provision
1 20 of this chapter to the contrary, the department may
1 21 issue a temporary restricted license to a person
1 22 otherwise eligible for a temporary restricted license
1 23 under this section, whose period of revocation under
1 24 this chapter has expired, but who has not met all
1 25 requirements for reinstatement of the person's motor
1 26 vehicle license or nonresident operating privileges."
1 27 #2. Page 3, by inserting before line 2 the
1 28 following:
1 29 "Sec. ___. RETROACTIVE APPLICABILITY. Sections
1 30 101 and 102 of this Act are retroactively applicable
1 31 to July 1, 1997, and are applicable on and after that
1 32 date."
1 33 #3. Title page, line 8, by inserting after the
1 34 word "date" the following: "and a retroactive
1 35 applicability date".
1 36 #4. By renumbering as necessary.
