1 29 education for allocation to assist school districts in
1 30 developing reading recovery programs. From the moneys
1 31 allocated in this subsection, $100,000 shall be
1 32 distributed to the reading recovery center, and the
1 33 remaining balance shall be distributed to the area
1 34 education agencies in the proportion that the number
1 35 of children who are eligible for free or reduced price
1 36 meals under the federal National School Lunch Act and
1 37 the federal Child Nutrition Act of 1966, 42 U.S.C. }
1 38 1751-1785, in the basic enrollment of grades one
1 39 through six in the area served by an agency, bears to
1 40 the sum of the number of children who are eligible for
1 41 free or reduced price meals under the federal National

1 44 enrollments of grades one through six in all of the
1 45 areas served by area education agencies in the state
1 46 for the budget year."

2 16 school districts in developing reading recovery
2 17 programs, in addition to the allocations provided for
2 18 in section 294A.25, there is allocated to the
