1 2 #1. Page 27, by inserting after line 22 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. ___. Section 261.17, Code Supplement 1997,
1 5 is amended by adding the following new subsection:
1 6 NEW SUBSECTION. 1A. All classes, including
1 7 liberal arts classes, identified by the community
1 8 college as required for completion of the student's
1 9 vocational-technical or career option program shall be
1 10 considered a part of the student's vocational-
1 11 technical or career option program for the purpose of
1 12 determining the student's eligibility for a grant.
1 13 Notwithstanding subsection 2, if a student is making
1 14 satisfactory academic progress but the student cannot
1 15 complete a vocational-technical or career option
1 16 program in the time frame allowed for a student to
1 17 receive a vocational-technical tuition grant as
1 18 provided in subsection 2 because additional classes
1 19 are required to complete the program, the student may
1 20 continue to receive a vocational-technical tuition
1 21 grant for not more than one additional enrollment
1 22 period."
1 23 #2. By renumbering, relettering, and redesignating
1 24 as necessary.
