1 2 #1. Page 22, by inserting after line 13 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. 101. COMMUNITY HEALTH INFORMATION SYSTEM
1 5 REPORT. Any unobligated or unencumbered funds
1 6 appropriated pursuant to 1997 Iowa Acts, chapter 209,
1 7 section 10, subsection 5, remaining on the effective
1 8 date of this Act may be used in developing a
1 9 transition plan for the community health management
1 10 information system and, if any funds remain after
1 11 completion of the plan, for a study of the uninsured
1 12 population of this state pursuant to section 505.21
1 13 and related health data needs. Not later than
1 14 December 1, l998, the division of insurance and the
1 15 board of directors of the community health management
1 16 information system shall submit a report to the
1 17 chairpersons and ranking members of the joint
1 18 appropriations subcommittee on administration and
1 19 regulation and the legislative fiscal bureau on the
1 20 use and collection of health information for the
1 21 purpose of health policy and planning decisions.
1 22 Sec. ___ . EFFECTIVE DATE. Section 101 of this
1 23 Act, being deemed of immediate importance, takes
1 24 effect upon enactment."
