  1  1    Amend House File 2496 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 18, by inserting after line 31 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec. ___.  Section 97B.48A, Code 1997, is amended
  1  5 by adding the following new subsection:
  1  6    NEW SUBSECTION.  5.  Notwithstanding any provision
  1  7 of this chapter to the contrary, if a retired member
  1  8 returns to employment that would otherwise be covered
  1  9 under this chapter, the member shall be covered under
  1 10 this chapter unless the member files an application
  1 11 with appropriate documentation to the department
  1 12 within sixty days of reemployment in the position to
  1 13 affirmatively elect out of coverage.  A decision to
  1 14 elect out of coverage under this chapter is
  1 15 irrevocable upon approval from the department."
  1 16    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
