PAG LIN 1 1 Amend House File 2496 as follows: 1 2 #1. Page 17, by inserting after line 20 the 1 3 following: 1 4 "Sec. ___. Section 97B.48A, subsection 1, 1 5 unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 1997, is amended to read 1 6 as follows: 1 7 If a member who has not reached the member's sixty- 1 8 fifth birthday and who has a bona fide retirement 1 9 under this chapter is in regular full-time employment 1 10 during a calendar year, the member's retirement 1 11 allowance shall be reduced by fifty cents for each 1 12 dollar the member earns over the limit provided in 1 13 this subsection. However, employment is not full-time 1 14 employment until the member receives remuneration in 1 15 an amount in excess ofseventwelve thousandfour1 16hundred fortydollars for a calendar year, or an 1 17 amount equal to the amount of remuneration permitted 1 18 for a calendar year for persons under sixty-five years 1 19 of age before a reduction in federal social security 1 20 retirement benefits is required, whichever is higher. 1 21 Effective the first of the month in which a member 1 22 attains the age of sixty-five years, a retired member 1 23 may receive a retirement allowance without a reduction 1 24 after return to covered employment regardless of the 1 25 amount of remuneration received." 1 26 #2.
