1 1 Amend House File 2454 as follows:
1 2 #1. Page 5, by striking lines 24 through 35 and
1 3 inserting the following:
1 4 "b. Issue a citation. An owner or driver who
1 5 produces to the clerk of court within thirty days of
1 6 the issuance of the citation, or prior to the date of
1 7 the individual's court appearance as indicated on the
1 8 citation, whichever is earlier, proof that the
1 9 financial liability coverage was in effect for the
1 10 motor vehicle at the time the person was stopped and
1 11 cited, or if the driver is not the owner of the motor
1 12 vehicle, proof that liability coverage was in effect
1 13 for the driver with respect to the motor vehicle being
1 14 driven at the time the driver was stopped and cited in
1 15 the same manner as if the motor vehicle were owned by
1 16 the driver, shall be given a receipt indicating that
1 17 proof was provided, and the citation issued shall be
1 18 dismissed."
